Founded and managed by Sherwin Antao and Smita Antao, Alagoa began as a humble dream shaped by warmth, hospitality, and a deep love for Goa’s culture, nature, and slower way of life. What started as a peaceful tropical retreat gradually evolved into a boutique hospitality experience known for its personalized service and soulful atmosphere.

While building Alagoa Resort, Sherwin and Smita discovered a remarkable 350-year-old Portuguese villa — a timeless home filled with history, character, and stories waiting to be revived.
What many saw as an ageing structure, they saw as a dream project.
Driven by a passion for preserving Goa’s architectural heritage, they carefully began the journey of restoring and reimagining the villa while retaining its original soul and charm.
